A couple of weeks ago I found some nice crappies not far from the house on the river. It is about a one mile walk from the house which can be tough if I drag a shelter out with me. I never keep more than 7 or 8 fish between 9 and 13 inches. They make a great sized fillet compared to the little 7 to 8 inch bluegill I usually get. Sounds like there are some big northern another half mile up that might respond to a tip-up and shiner. With the days getting longer maybe I can try that next.
The great thing about this spot is the solitude, that's why I wont be posting this on riverangling.;)
